专利说明:
The present invention relates to a container comprising a plastic material whose opacity increases with aging, a method for estimating the aging of a plastic material and the use of such a method for estimating the aging of a tank in a vehicle. BACKGROUND ART The use of plastic materials, for example in containers of various kinds, is very widespread today. The plastic materials have many advantageous properties, such as impact resistance, good formability, low weight, corrosion resistance and cost-effective manufacturing. They are therefore widely used, for example in the automotive industry, where they are used, for example, to manufacture expansion vessels for cooling systems and tanks for industry, washer water and more. As plastic materials age, their mechanical properties are adversely affected and the risk of damage to the material increases. Expansion tanks for cooling systems in motor vehicles, as well as tanks for, for example, washer fluid, are often made of transparent or partially transparent plastic material such as polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), or fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene or polyamide. As this type of plastic material ages, in addition to the mechanical properties, the optical properties of the materials are affected in such a way that they become less transparent and the opacity, in other words, increases. How fast the plastic material ages is dependent on, among other things, the stresses to which it is subjected. High pressures and temperatures as well as UV radiation are factors that usually accelerate the aging of plastic materials. A plastic material 5 used in an expansion tank in a cooling system of a motor vehicle is exposed to high pressures and temperatures and thus ages relatively quickly. As the mechanical properties of the plastic material deteriorate, there is a risk that the tank will go sandy, with for example paint such as -1610. One problem is that, for example, for tanks in motor vehicles, it is black to emerge when the degree of aging of the plastic material is such that the tank should be replaced. EP0068086 discloses a method for determining aging of colored plastic articles by illuminating them and feeding their reflectance. Plastic articles with a reflectance outside a certain range are sorted out. A problem with this procedure, however, is that it requires access to special food equipment. US 2012/0085155 discloses a method for determining aging of plastic materials where a deformation feed is performed by means of a test device. However, this procedure also requires the user to have access to special equipment. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to provide a simplified and improved method in at least some aspect of disposing of 3 plastic materials in a container aged so that the mechanical properties are thereby impaired. This object is achieved according to a first aspect of the invention by a container according to claim 1. The container has an outer wall comprising an at least partially transparent plastic material whose opacity increases with aging and comprises a marker to indicate aging of said plastic material. The marker is arranged so that it is visible from the outside of the container 10 through said outer wall only as long as the opacity of the outer wall is less than an opacity associated with a certain degree of aging of the plastic material. With a container according to the invention comprising a marker, it is possible to determine whether the plastic material in the container has aged so much that the container should be replaced only by looking at the container. If the degree of aging of the plastic material is unacceptable and the container should be replaced, the marker is no longer visible during inspection from the outside. It is therefore easy to see during a quick inspection whether the container according to the invention needs to be replaced. According to an embodiment of the invention, the said plastic material is made of polypropylene (PP) or polyamide (PA). PP has good chemical resistance, good fatigue resistance and high temperatures and can therefore be used to advantage in containers for liquid at temperatures up to about 100 ° C. PP is also a relatively inexpensive material. PA speaks high temperatures, has good mechanical resistance and notch resistance. According to an embodiment of the invention, the outer cradle comprises only the said plastic material. In this embodiment, the container has a lightweight outer wall. According to another embodiment of the invention, in addition to the said plastic material, the outer wall also comprises glass fiber. The incorporation of fiberglass reinforces the outer wall of the container. The outer cradle may, for example, comprise 10% glass fiber. According to an embodiment of the invention, the marker is arranged inside the container at a distance from the outer wall. The presence of a soil & affects in this way the container's half-life is minimal. This embodiment is advantageous in cases where the container is intended for a transparent liquid and high demands are placed on the half-strength of the container. According to another embodiment of the invention, the marker is arranged in or on said outer wall. In this way, the marker does not affect the space in the container. In addition, the marker in this embodiment can also be used to estimate aging in containers filled with an opaque content. According to an embodiment of the invention, the marker consists of a solid body whose color deviates from that of the container. The marker then becomes clearly visible through the outer cradle as long as the outer cradle's opacity allows. According to an embodiment of the invention, the container is an expansion tank. The container according to the invention is suitable as an expansion tank, since it is undesirable for one to be able to easily determine whether the material in the tank has aged so that it has to be replaced. The expansion tank can, for example, be an expansion tank in a cooling system of a vehicle. According to another aspect of the invention, the above-mentioned object is achieved by a method for estimating aging of an at least partially transparent plastic material whose opacity increases with aging. The method comprises the steps of: arranging a marker in a container, which container comprises an outer wall comprising said plastic material, visually inspecting said marks through said outer wall, and based on said inspection, estimating the degree of aging of the plastic material, wherein the marker is arranged so that it is visible through the outer wall only as long as the opacity of the outer wall is less than an opacity associated with a certain degree of aging of the plastic material. With the method according to the invention, the degree of aging of a plastic material can thus be estimated without access to any special equipment. This is particularly useful when an estimate of the aging rate is performed as a part of a more comprehensive inspection of various properties of a number of components, such as during a control inspection or inspection of a vehicle. The degree of aging of, for example, an expansion tank in a cooling system of the vehicle can be estimated quickly and easily with the method according to the invention. According to an embodiment of this second aspect of the invention, the degree of aging at which the marker is no longer visible through the outer wall is determined at least in part by selecting a distance to the outer wall, at which distance the marker is arranged. By increasing the distance to the outer cradle, the degree of aging at which the marker is not visible is reduced by this. According to one embodiment, the degree of aging at which the marker is no longer visible through the outer wall is determined at least in part by choosing the color of the marker. By choosing a color that contrasts more or less with the container, the procedure can be adapted so that the degree of aging at which the marker is no longer visible is reduced or reduced. According to one embodiment, the step of arranging the marker in the container is carried out during manufacture of the container. The marker can then be integrated with the container, for example by being molded together with it. The invention also relates to the use of a method as above for estimating the aging of a tank in a vehicle, such as an expansion tank in a cooling system of the vehicle. Other advantageous features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be described in more detail below with the aid of exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a container according to the invention in the form of an expansion tank, Fig. 2 shows an oblique view of a part of the container in Fig. 1, Fig. 3 shows a side view of a part of the container in Fig. 1, Fig. 4 shows a flow chart of a method according to the invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION A container according to a first embodiment of the invention, schematically shown in Figs. 1-3, is in the form of an expansion tank 1 for coolant in a cooling system of a motor vehicle. The expansion tank is made of transparent polypropylene reinforced with 10% fiberglass and is made by molding two parts, has shown as a lower part 2 and an upper part 3. The flat parts 2, 3 have then been welded together to form a container with a welding joint 4 running around the container 4. The expansion tank 1 thus has a single continuous outer wall 5, the opacity of which depends on the degree of aging of the polypropylene. With increasing aging, the opacity of the outer wall 5 also increases. The container comprises a marker 6 to estimate the aging of the plastic material. The marker 6 is in the form of a strongly colored button in plastic material, which 8 is arranged inside the expansion tank 1 at a distance L from the outer wall 5. In the embodiment shown, the marker 6 is fixed to a part 7 projecting from the lower part 2 of the tank. 7 is formed in one piece with the lower part 2 and has a length such that it projects into the upper part 3 of the expansion tank 1. The marker 6 is thus, after joining the lower part 2 and the upper part 3, placed in the upper part of the expansion tank. part 3 p5 the distance L from the outer cradle 5. The expansion tank 1 also comprises inner cradles 8, which, among other things, equalize stresses in the plastic material and increase the half-strength of the expansion tank 1. For the sake of clarity, the inner cradles 8 in the upper part 3 of the expansion tank are shown only in Figs. Of course, the expansion tank also includes passages from the water flow to and from the expansion tank and between the cells 9 delimited by the inner cradles 8, but for the sake of clarity these have been omitted in the drawings. Since the expansion tank 1 is newly manufactured, the marker 6 is clearly visible through the outer wall 5. During use, the expansion tank is exposed to large pressure and temperature fluctuations and the material in the expansion tank therefore ages relatively quickly. As the expansion tank 1 ages, the opacity of the outer wall 5 increases and the visibility of the marker 6 is affected. Since the opacity of the outer cradle 5 exceeds the opacity associated with a certain degree of aging, the plastic material of the outer cradle 5 has the marker no longer visible through the outer cradle 5. This is an indication that the expansion tank should be replaced. By adjusting the color of the marker and / or the distance L from the outer wall 5, the degree of aging when the marker 6 is no longer visible can be controlled. The distance L can be adjusted, for example, by making the protruding part 7 longer or shorter, or by varying the thickness of the button which in this embodiment constitutes the marker 6. The marker can of course also be arranged in other ways than the above-mentioned way in the container. For example, the marker can be painted in a different color on a protruding part of the container. According to a second embodiment (not shown), a container according to the invention comprises a mark & in the form of a marking placed on the inside of the outer wall. The color of the marking has been chosen so that the marking is no longer visible through the outer cradle as it has aged so much that the container had to be replaced. The marking is printed or painted directly on the outer wall, but it can also be a dye or a piece of material of a different color which has been cast into the outer wall on its inside. The container according to the invention can also be in the form of a tank for washing liquid or fuel, in a vehicle or in another industry-driven machine. The container can of course also be intended for other applications, where it is easy to be able to control the aging rate of the container. A method according to the invention is shown in Fig. 4. The method is used to estimate aging of an at least partially transparent plastic material whose opacity increases with aging. In a first step Si, a marker is arranged in a container, for example an expansion tank or another container as described above. This step Si takes place suitably during the manufacture of the container. The container comprises one or more outer walls comprising said plastic material. The marker is arranged so that it is visible through at least one of these outer walls when the container is newly manufactured. In a second step S2, which is suitably performed at regular intervals, the marker is visually inspected through said outer wall. Based on this inspection, the degree of aging of the plastic material in a step S3 is then estimated. If the opacity of the outer wall falls below an opacity associated with a certain degree of aging of the plastic material in the outer wall, the marker is visible, and the container can continue to be used. When a time has elapsed, the inspection step S2 is repeated. If, on the other hand, the opacity of the outer wall exceeds an opacity associated with a certain degree of aging of the plastic material in the outer wall, the marker is no longer visible, and the container should be replaced in a step S4. The process according to the invention can be carried out by any suitable container hoist, but is particularly suitable for tanks in a motor vehicle, such as in a truck, bus or passenger car. These tanks are often exposed to large temperature and pressure fluctuations, which makes it difficult to predict the tanks' aging process. The invention is of course not limited in any way to the embodiments described above, but a number of possibilities for modifications thereof should be obvious to a person skilled in the art, without the latter deviating from the basic idea of the invention as defined in the appended claims. 11
